About Peak Pine Gear

Every product we review spends real time in the field — minimums of 30 trail miles for footwear, 40 miles for shells, and multiple overnight trips for tents and sleep systems. We score against fixed criteria (waterproofing, breathability, durability, livability) and we always publish the cons alongside the pros. If a product fails, we say so, whoever makes it.

Rankings are decided by testers, not advertisers. Brands cannot pay for placement, and we don't accept sponsored reviews. When a manufacturer sends a sample, it gets the same treatment as gear we buy ourselves — and the review says what it says.

Peak Pine Gear is reader-supported. When you click a "Check Price" link and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
